He will always be remembered for generosity with his time, wealth, and knowledge, and for providing the inspiration that led to the great California wine industry we know today. While he stood taller than life, he honored everyone--new acquaintences and old friends--so they believed that they were the most important person in the room. He was a Stanford Graduate and worked his way up to become the most important person in the wine industry. His philosophy was that if you had the right grapes and the right ground it would produce greatness in the wine. Robert Mondavi is the man hailed as the ambassador of the Napa Valley and the godfather of California wine. He leaves a legacy far greater than just the winery, he has touched the soul of many students who have since become legends in their own right. This exclusive, private tour will include private visits to those legends whom Robert taught, from Mike Grgich of Grgich Hills Winery to Opus I and his partnership with Baron Phillippe de Rothschild. The list is long and notable. This exclusive tour will include a selection from the following Napa and Sonoma wineries, wineries whose winemakers were mentored by Robert.
